Fakin' Friday

Has anyone noticed how super expensive it is for takeaway now days? For our family to get takeaway pizza night it costs about $50-$60, a little too far out of my budget. So that means I gotta fake it!

First things first. If I am gonna make it myself, I mayswell start from scratch...

The Base

2 C Plain Flour
1 t caster sugar
1/2 t salt
2 T Olive Oil
3/4 C warm water

Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl and give it a quick stir. Add the oil and water and mix to form a lump. Knead until it is smooth and pliable. Leave to rest in a warm area for about 30 mins. Knead the dough gently for a minute and then roll out to the size of your pizza pan. Prick the base all over with a fork. And you're done! ready for toppings

Pizza sauce to get the 'stick' required to keep it all together. No tomato for Little Man, so he has Mustard!

Then add your fav toppings. I love the independance making their own dinner gives the boys. They are so proud of themselves... and so am I.

As we can't have cheese in our house we stop here. Popping it all into a hot oven for 15 mins.

The only thing about faking it is, you can't fake the mess! It makes me want to pay someone $50 to come and clean up for me. Well, almost anyway.

Oh but wait we have dessert tonight too! It seemed unfair that up until now my guys have never had the oh so sweet taste sensation of a brownie. But alas tonight we conquered the egg-free, dairy-free Chocolate Brownie. Recipe over here!

Mmmmm this is going to need a cuppa tea too!

I just had to pop back today and let you know that 'day old brownie' with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream is just like, no scrap that.. even better (coz the boys can have it too), than a monacco bar! I know, who would have ever dreamed that there could be something as dreamy as a Monacco Bar? Not me, not until lunch time today that was!
Only 8 more sleeps till Christmas
