This is the 5500 piece project that WILL BE finished this year. When I actually pulled it from it's hiding place deep within my sewing room, I found that it should be really called my The 4814 project. I was a little eager and accidently added on an extra 700 pieces or so... So I've set myself a goal of 1 block per week and this will see me finished by the end of the year, although it would be nice to have it finished and ready to be put into the show this year too. That would require me to do 4 blocks per week. Hmmm we'll see.
I have used only Jinney Beyer fabric in the piecing. It was a competition to create something to the theme REMEMBER, using only her palette, that sparked this creation. A competition that I never got to enter.
As my children grow we are constantly saying "remember when...", so I thought this would be perfect.
I used a program that I downloaded from
here, to create my road map.
This is where I'm up to...

I just love the organised backs... |

Can you imagine it yet? |
The program actually will pick the colours to match either Maderia or DMC threads. So it's as easy as picking out the Maderia threads and taking them over to the palette section in your
favourite store and matching to the thread in your hand. It was that easy. Depending on the size you want your wall hanging/quilt can be determined in the settings of the program. Mine will be just under 1.5m across (requirements of the competition) and I can't wait to get it all finished, step back 20 steps and just REMEMBER!
